Colorado has fired coach Mike MacIntyre on Sunday with the Buffaloes on a six-game losing streak in his sixth season at the school, and two years after he won AP coach of the year.

Athletic director Rick George said in a statement he informed MacIntyre that the coach would not return and then met with the coaching staff and players. George said he will name an interim head coach for Colorado's final game against California on Saturday. MacIntyre is due about $10 million from the five-year extension he signed after the 2016 season, when he was voted AP college football coach of the year after leading the Buffaloes to a Pac-12 South title and 10 victories.

I was a big Buffs fan when Bill McCartney, Rick Neuheisel, and Gary Barnett had the program going. I luved how Colorado has a freakin' real buffalo as a mascot, and would schedule anybody anywhere. The Buffs were competing for national titles. Ever since Barnett was fired for sexual misconduct by football players and for not treating some feminist who wanted to kick the football nicely it has been nothing but mediocrity and worse in Boulder. Now Colorado will be looking for its fourth football coach since 2006 when Barnett was fired.

CU just does not care enough about winning football games. Few if any future teams will be great. Not very many high school kids in Colorado are Division One capable. CU Boulder is great for Snow sports, cross-country jogging, sports medicine, and non-contact sports and the great out doors. It just is not football territory. Summer time inner tubing on Boulder Creek: fantastic. The talent rich low income states have got great football. Colorado is more oriented towards LaCross.

When I moved to Colorado in the 90's I met a number of people who had moved from the midwest to Boulder specifically because of the CU football team. Somehow they thought that most of the people that populated Boulder would be like McCartney.

Surprise, surprise for them when they got to Boulder and found out the residents were more like Paul McCartney from his Yellow Submarine days than Bill McCartney the future Promise Keeper!

The only government employees that are held accountable seem to be the coaches.

Big FBS schools sure have a lot of money to throw around.

I was a big Buffs fan when Bill McCartney

McCartney went on that white guilt - apology tour. I don't recall if that was before or after he started apologizing to the homosexuals.

Speaking of Baylor:

“Do you like white women? Because we have a lot of them at BAYLOR and they LOVE football players”

as one of the Briles was quoted as saying.
