I had an unfortunate event happen to me this morning. For a semi-retirement job I decided to substitute teach. After hearing 2 black students tell me they hated history, I began to extol the rich contributions of blacks to American history. Moments later I was escorted to the office by the principal and escorted to the door. He implied I was a racist and we do not single out black students in our school. The parents of the students are coming in to support the students. and I will be blacklisted from subbing in county schools.I learned firsthand the sensitivity of race in American Schools and how Politically Correct educators must be in government schools.
SO glad I’m not a teacher in the USA...!

What county? If you had instead extolled the Founding Fathers you'd have been accused of racism as well.
Ask if the school observes Black History Month.

You did nothing wrong, but the principal was doing you a favor.
If you stayed on, you likely would be sued for racial discrimination.
Under what pretext, God only knows. But this you should know. Do not talk to blacks.

Govt schools are nothing but “indoctrination centers”.
Like everything else liberalism touches, public education has been totally destroyed in this country. Liberalism destroys everything it touches....EVERYTHING. It is the BORG of this century and should be stamped out...once and for all.

The most RACIST thing in America is the lower education given to schools in ghettoes. The Democratic party and unions do not want Blacks to advance with education. How dare you try to teach.
you don’t say whether you were telling the whole class or just the two students about blacks in history.
You also don’t say whether they said they hated history during class or not.
IMO, these kids and their parents and the principle need to get a grip on reality because they are not living in reality but some twisted set of rules that serves no purpose but to grow hate and be divisive. Just like in book of Leviticus, no one can keep all the rules, schools and parents of some kids have gotten that stupid crazy.
If things are that “sensitive” at that school, the principal did you a favor.
I’m in a quandary here. I can’t talk about Banneker, Douglas, Carver, Johnsokn, Carson, Degrasse and the 10,000 inventions by African Americans, I am to look at American society colorblind. Maybe we have truly acheived racial blindness in public schools. Believe me if I ever sub again in a gov’t school. I’ll only talk about our founding fathers!
Once upon a time, we used to be able to laugh at ourselves, and one another. The following link would be horribly racist by today’s standards.

You have my sympathies. Sounds like you were taking the liberal approach.
My best hope could be that the students were a tad offended by the usual requisite pandering, but my hunch is that instead the school admin was on to you as something of a Freeper type—and just looking for an opening.
From a teacher (28 years). Never ever engage in any conversation with these kids. They don’t listen, they will find something offensive, they don’t care. Just babysit, that’s what you’re paid for.
In a roundabout way they’re telling you to ignore the needs of black students? And you’re the racist??
Are you a white male? Then yes.
But this you should know. Do not talk to blacks.
