A group advocating to rename Faneuil Hall because of its namesake's ties to slavery will re-enact a slave auction outside the historic downtown building this weekend.
The New Democracy Coalition says Saturday's event is designed to call attention to Boston's history of slavery.
The building known as the Cradle of Liberty is named after Peter Faneuil, a wealthy 18th century slave owner who financed construction as a gift to the city.

Isn’t the college afraid of proesters and potential violence of this outrageous demonstration?
Aren’t they going to demand increased security fees?
Faneuil Hall is part of a shopping and dining complex near Boston’s waterfront. A popular venue for tourist’s. The leader of the protest wants it to be renamed for a black person killed in the Boston Massacre.
New England is a target rich environment for this. After all, New England was THE hub of the slave trade industry for the entire western hemisphere from the late 18th century until 1861 when it became too politically embarrassing and was finally stopped. Prominent New Englanders from John Hancock (largest slave trader in the 13 colonies and later governor of Massachusetts) to most of the founders of Ivy League universities as well as large companies some of which still exist, got their money largely from...........slave trading.
I mightve objected to things like the protest above and all the future moves to erase New Englands history to come, but since they were only too happy to support efforts by SJWs to erase Southern history, I will now just sit back and watch.........with a huge grin on my face.
tourists (typo)
I always thought that the cliche is that the North had nothing to do with slavery outside of ending it. We’re also somehow supposed to thank the Democrats for that last part for some unknown reason.
Back when the Democrat party was known as the “white man’s party” and supported slavery. They probably won’t mention that, though.
Any protests against mohammed?
Almost One Million Irish Slaves At Risk Of Being Scrubbed From History.

My husbands family fought at Concord, and were stoned to death in Salem, and donated the land known as Harvard Yard. The liberals should look into the Harvard / slavery ties because conservatives are going to enjoy watching all the liberal institutions dragged through the mud.
Oh Ive posted it here before. Haaaaahvads ties to slave trading are huge. The same is true for all Ivy League universities. Almost all their founders and benefactors got a lot of their money from it. It was by far the largest and most profitable industry in New England for a long long time.

The Unitary Democratic Coalition[1] (Portuguese: CDU Coligação Democrática Unitária, PCPPEV) is an electoral and political coalition between the Portuguese Communist Party (Portuguese: Partido Comunista Português or PCP) and the Ecologist Party “The Greens” (Portuguese: Partido Ecologista “Os Verdes” or PEV).
On another thread, I saw a militant member of antifaaaa with a lavender bandanna and a baseball bat, he too was with “Democratic Coalition” only this one was US, not Portuguese.
Apparently it is just another term for Communist
I am born and raised in Boston. I know my way around better than most, and I know some History of the area.
I certainly do know less than you seem to regarding these matters.
Thanks for sharing. I have some reading to do, clearly.
Why not rename it for a Roxbury pimp named Malcolm Little?
Peter Faneuil lived before there was a Democrat party.
Whatever...To be fair, one can make a legitimate argument for renaming the building. But.....Stanford University was named after Stanford who owned Chinese slaves. The City of Berkeley and thus UC Berkeley was named after another slave holder. So, I’m just saying....both sides can play politics on this issue.....or we can al just let history be history. The political left likes to stir the pot.....it can be stirred both ways is all I’m saying. R
Nuke Boston and salt the ground where it once stood.
See if that satisfies thems.
(Hint: It won’t)
You’d be surprised how any iconic ‘Bastions of liberalism’ were named after some pretty controversial figures. It would be fun to insist on renaming universities like Stanford, Berkeley, and Harvard.....using the same historical arguments the political left uses for renaming things. I personally think it’s just history....good, bad, and indifferent depending on the case and should be left alone...., but it’s never going to stop until the political right plays the same game. If you think about it....there’s probably a legit reason for renaming any building, bridge, or street. Show me a building or a bridge and within a few hours I bet I could come up with a reason why it should be renamed. Ha!!!
It is interesting that the "New Democrats" want to eliminate our history so they can impose socialism.
It can't be that .00001% of the Buddhist, Shintoist, Judeo Christian population of the US supports slavery or any of its vestiges. We all know about that part of our heritage. Many of our forbears fought and lost lives to defeat slavery.
But it is part of our history, an important part of our history. It is a reminder that man, governments and mass mobs can perpetrate great evils, you know, like their heros Stalin and Mao and all the other Totalitarian dictators they worship except Hitler, whom they believe to be a right winger, mistakenly, ignoring that he was also a socialist.
Most of these ass wipes have ancestors that were slave owners. Perhaps we should track them down and force name changes. Or better yet, arrest them and decide whether they are allowed to stay in this country or not.
