Gee, I’m not that good at this stuff. But for example, I have a lap top that I take with me when I travel, so I could simply store it that way with little effort or inconvenience.

I have hand crank radio and battery operated multi band radio that I don’t use daily. I have extra boom box radio/cd player that can operate on batteries.

Most important, I need to get a backup for a cpap machine and battery. I do have a portable solar generator that will run cpap for a couple of nights without recharging, but I’d like something additional, as we can’t always depend on Sun here.

I have a couple of battery operated fans that could be stored in the same manner. IIRC, Marcella told me that if electronics were not plugged in they would not be impacted.

IIRC, cars engines and generators that are not running and are unplugged are ok as is, but as I said I’m no expert, and at the mercy of what people more knowledgeable tell me.

Better try out the solar generator. We hooked ours up to our freezer when the electricity went out a couple summers ago. The fully charged battery lasted 2 hours.

IIRC, Anything with a computer type chip in it is vulnerable whether plugged in, or not. Being plugged in could increase the damage but once enough damage is done to render it unworkable, what difference does greater damage make in such a context?
