We killed a fair number of water buffalo who were on or near the Ho Chi Minh Trail. 5”/38 high explosive shells don’t leave much meat left on the bone.

Crocs probably didn’t leave much meat on these.

The arty impact range on Vieques, PR, was normally used as graze for the local cattle. When the Marines and Navy would show up for a shoot, the cattle were supposed to be gone. There were standing orders that arty spotters weren't supposed to call in ordinance on any cows.

Tell this to a teenager. Horns, hide and hooves, everywhere. "I swear, sir, I didn't see the cow behind that bush when I called in a TOT on it."

Six or 12 or 18 105mm time fused rounds don't leave much but pink mist and small bits.
