I’m always impressed by someone who can speak Japanese. Outside of a few phrases (Ohio gozaimasu, domo arrigato, gomen nasai, etc.) they couldn’t understand me. :(
I was there a few months, mostly in Tokyo, around Shinjuku and town called Tobu Nerima. Shinjuku train station at rush hour is quite an experience.

Yeah, I spent 3 years at camp Schwab Okinawa. 3rd Recon Bn. I rented the upstairs part of a house from a Japanese couple for the last year.
