The WNBA Players Association announced on Thursday that the group is opting out of its current collective bargaining agreement with the league.
After holding conference calls and two in-person meetings to discuss the possibility of opting out, the union informed the league of its decision to end the agreement, a move that is allowed due to a clause in the current CBA.

Couldn’t care less about the Lesbian Basketball Association. Couldn’t care less about the NBA either.
I saw a game when the my town had the championship WNBA team. Attendance was less than 300; paid attendance less than 100, and 95% of the unpaid attendees didn’t buy a thing at the concession stand. The team moved after a couple of years like this; no idea where it ended up. It did have the lowest attendance of any team in the WNBA.
they couldn’t beat a good high school boys team
It won’t fold because the NBA owners quake in fear of the charges of sexism that will be flying around the internet ten minutes after that is announced.
They will continue to pour money down the rathole for as far into the future as the eye can see, rather than face SJW wrath.
Surely their earnings are negative. Maybe you mean revenue?
I think one or two teams do actually make money, but it’s not from attendance it’s from sponsorships sold by companies aggressively targeting the lesbian market in Connecticut and Los Angeles. The Chicago team is just a trainwreck. They don’t even play in Chicago. They play in Rosemont.
They must think they’re “worth” a lot more, but they’re not. I find their games pretty well unwatchable.
I’ve known only one person in my entire life who likes to watch women’s b-ball..... and she is an uber-dyke, no surprise. She’s not watching for the quality of sport....
Yeah, with crowds so large, WNBA players should get a bigger piece of the gate.
Some day Madonna and that tall girl will be in a movie about the WNBA. “Another League of Their Own’.
What’s a WNBA?
