Somewhere Bill Buckner is celebrating ...

Why? He got to go to the World Series with the Dodgers in ‘74, and though he was traded to the Cubs for Rick Monday when it was clear that Steve Garvey was the future at first base, was always remembered fondly by Dodger fans.

Nice response. Besides, the Sox would have never have made it to the post-season without his bat - he had a great offensive year in '86.
