Great game...Beuller and Eovaldi were both brilliant...Muncy who?
I really thought the turning point was when Maeda (LA) was pitching poorly, and Boston got 2 men on with, IIRC, no one out. (”IIRC” - I was getting a bit sleepy!) But then he made that excellent play / throw to 3rd, off the bunt. After that, almost every Maeda pitch was perfect: He then pretty much mowed down the rest of the Boston batters he faced. None of the write-ups I saw this morning even mentioned that play or Maeda’s contribution.
The “funny” thing, too, if one does not have a dog in this fight, was that the announcers had just praised Eovaldi, in the start of the bottom of the 18th, but then Muncy got the first couple pitches: To me, Eovaldi no longer looked so good. I thought “uh-oh”, they’ve put the “hex” on Eovaldi, and then sure enough... BAM!
