They vote for this scheisse. The average German voter has long voted for soft socialism, freeloading off of America for their national defense (and cheap pharmaceuticals and medical devices), envirowackoism, multiculturalism and lots of other leftist hobby horses. Well now they’re seeing the consequences and its too late to turn back. They did it to themselves.
For a smart and capable people, they can be awfully awfully naive and stupid. I say this as one who is part German and who grew up with the language and who lived there twice. Individually, Germans are great. Collectively, they’re an effing disaster.
