Boston in 5.

Los Angeles is a warm weather city, many players are going to be freezing.

You’re a young whippsnapper.

I used to sit in the bleachers for 65 cents and watch Ellis Kinder as the Red Sox ace reliever. ⚾️⚾️

You ARE an old-timer!

Back in those days, did they have a "grandstand pass" in the bleacher section?

During the 1970s, if I paid my $1.75 to get to the bleachers, I could get a "grandstand pass" for fifty cents more and wander around the grandstand. Technically it was standing room but you could grab any empty seat and in those days, there were plenty of empty seats. I'd keep my eye on the businessmen in the box seats as they would tend to leave games early to beat traffic. So often by the eighth inning, I'd usually be in the front rows right behind the dugout.

Hot dogs and soda were fifty cents, pretzels and popcorn for 35 cents or so. Beer...I think it was 75 cents and when I got to be 14 or 15, they started selling it to me in the stands. They typically didn't card in those days but you still had to be cool about it. I'd point to the empty seat next to me, making like my dad was sitting there, hand over the money and the vendor would place the beer under the seat and hustle away. So long as they didn't hand it to you personally, they had no problem selling it that way.

The grandstand pass back in the 50’s was that you could pay 50 cents at any ticket window and get into the park. After that, you were on your own.

Believe it or not, we weren’t interested in drinking at that age. Girls and ‘49 Ford convertibles were more interesting.

But I do remember the urinals in the men’s room at Fenway. A knee high trough that ran around three walls. It would’ve made a great course for the Rotary Club duck races.

I also remember Jimmy Piersall (#37) doing push-ups in centerfield.

We want Brock! We want Brock!

YES!! Are you listening, Alex Cora?? ;-)

Alex Cora is having an amazing run in his new position. His older brother Joey is the third base/infield coach for the Pirates.

Yes, that's right. Hubby said years ago that Alex and Joey Cora would someday be MLB coaches. Smart guys! We loved Alex when he was a Red "Sock" years ago. ;-D

FOX sports talking heads are awful! They spent more time rubber-necking for celebrities in the stands than following the game.

They really *were* awful last night. And the celebrity-spotting garbage will get much worse once the Series moves to LA.

It seems to me that Joe Buck and John Smoltz have been much better in the past. Maybe they were suffering from brain freeze in the cold temps last night. Hope they do a better job tonight, although I'm not holding my breath...

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Fenway as I’m in NY area now but they had those “urinal troughs” well into the 1990s at least. Not a bad idea actually - gets you in and out quick.

Silly, rather creepy Red Sox mascots "Lefty" and "Righty" (aka Left Sock and Right Sock) with Wally the Green Monster.

I haven't seen the Sock mascots at Fenway for several years now... Maybe they're retired.

Wally is a big Muppet-like creature who is supposed to represent the 37-foot 2-inch wall in left field -- the Green Monster. The (real) Green Monster is in the background of the three mascots.

I'm not a big Wally fan, but the kids like him...

You had some great baseball experiences-——and I probably saw your interview on Ch.5-——that was my go-to station back in those days.

That's exactly what I said last night. The FOX celebrity spotters are warming up for their trip to Tinsel Town.

I would like to see baseball impose a limit on the number of pitchers you can use in a game, to say three pitchers.

Of course the Union would never allow this rule to go into place.

I must say, sometimes I prefer to listen to the Spanish commentary over the English commentary.

By the way regarding World Series on the radio, due to an MLB rule only during the World Series, only the flagsghip station of the team network can carry their own broadcast (for example, WEEI-FM 93.7 in Boston area). All other stations of the Red Sox network have to air ESPN radio’s version.

The same applies to LA—their flagship station gets the hometown version, but affiliates get ESPN radio. However if you get XM/Sirius you could still get the “hometown” broadcast.

It’s Fox on TV.

I’ll take the 53 degree weather any day of the week-—I detest the heat.

I am surprised that Dodgers are able to handle the cold. I thought they would freeze.

In the off-season I would like that changed. But that is me.

I have Radio.com which carries both WTIC AM and WEEI FM. Since I have a smartphone and bypass that rule and listen to Joe and Tim color commitary on WEEI FM, I tried to see if will work. It didn’t.

They just showed a 102 year old woman——she didn’t even have a hat on——the Dodgers are freezing.

Quite a game.
