The article agrees with you that it is a lie. It explains why.

This article is badly written. I don’t blame you for not reading further.
However, the author goes on to CONTRADICT himself. And say these were perceived thoughts.
Which they really weren’t either.
I started off thinking this was a leftist propaganda piece of crap. Either it is or is - as I said - badly written.
