Hundreds of Honduran migrants are headed for the United States border, just days after Vice President Pence sat down with the Central American country’s leader, urging him to take a tougher stance on mass migrations.

At least 1,300 people, including young children, left San Pedro Sula in northern Honduras on Saturday, in what some are calling the “March of the Migrant,” Reuters reported.

Bartolo Fuentes, the organizer, told the news agency that the group plans to march through Guatemala and into Mexico. From there, participants will request refugee status, which would allow them to stay in the country, or they will apply for a visa to pass through into the U.S.

IMPROVE Honduras! Don’t come here and vote to reimpose the policies which led to Honduras becoming a hellhole.

Those days are over — and they will have to camp out in Mexico.

Which is going to make Mexico very unhappy.

This will be a test for Mexico’s new prez. He can’t physically shove them across the border so he will have to pay to house and feed them.

He ran as a populist also for the poor.

Let’s see what he does when the two are in conflict.

Why, why, why in the Hell are we giving this country foreign aid then? What are they doing with our tax dollars? Shouldn't the purpose of foreign aid is to better their countries, so they DON'T come here?

We need to stop this invasion, it is not immigration.
It is colonization.
It has been aided by both parties.
We need to replace the Bush League Republicans with patriots.

One strafing mission of these invaders by an A-10 can turn this into a happy ending for everybody. These bastards are the greatest threat to the national security of the United States. Take them out.

"Those days are over — and they will have to camp out in Mexico."

Well, those days were supposed to be over. But anyone who shows up at the border and claims refugee status is let in. The border patrol just last week said that we are at the breaking point, and the flood gates are about to open. They are overwhelmed.

Unless President Trump gets involved on a daily or weekly basis nothing is going to change. No one from Central America claiming refugee status was supposed to be allowed to set one foot across the border. Well tough titty on that. Theory and practice are not exactly in sync.

From their perspective, it is the only way to ensure their survival and prosperity. Our State Department has done nothing to help these countries institute rule of law and the execution of justice.

President Maduro tried, and what was he greeted with? Condemnation by the Obama administration, Amnesty International, the OAS, and the EU. Maduro almost single handedly defeated MS-13 and all other gangs. And then we pulled the rug out from under him.

Honduras and other states suffer from a common ailment (the US suffers from it to, but to a lesser degree): the inability to execute justice. This includes but is not limited to the swift enforcement of the death penalty.

I might do an essay for FR on the whole of the issue.

They're perfectly capable of fixing their own countries. Generations of American welfare, military intervention in these countries has done nothing. Yours smacks of the bigotry of low expectation. Myself and millions of other Americans are beyond fed up with hordes of arrogant, pugnacious border jumping criminals who feel they've got a God given right to just barge in here.
