Is it or is it not illegal what he did on his vacation.

(urope. Why do they put up with this.)
To: Simon Green
Not seeing a problem here. The hunt was legal, in accordance with game laws, and baboons are pests in Africa.

Years ago I saw Ted Nugent doing a interview and he was asked about his recent trip to Africa and his baboon hunt while there. He said that baboons are nasty and are like the Bloods and Crips of Africa and had no problem killing them.

Another fake outrage about someone doing a wholly legal thing? Reminds me of that dentist from a couple of years ago killing some “famous” lion whose Wikipedia page wasn’t even created until after its death.

When you are a public official, before you allow any picture to be taken of you, ask yourself “What will my political opponents do with this?”

Baboons are pests.
A troop of baboons can destroy the entire fruit or nut crop overnight.
What they do not eat they poop on.
And what they do to a tea or coffee plantation has to be seen to be believed.
They also will attack and kill humans.

How is this any different than someone going out and sniping a bunch of rats? Baboons are like giant African rats when it comes to being destructive pests. The little ones are pests just like the adults. The point of pest control is to get rid of the pests.
The only thing that I think the F&G guy did wrong was show pictures to a bunch of people who are excessively sensitive. He should have known that it would be controversial and could create problems for his employer.

“Troop” a group of baboons is a “troop”. Using the word family is an anthropomorphism.

Reminds me of the song “99 bottles of beer on the wall”
99 Baboons did fall
99 dead Baboons
If one of those Baboons happens to get up
98 dead Baboons did fall
etc etc etc

He should have kept mum.
We live in a very judgmental and ignorant culture.
How could he not know that?

“Is it or is it not illegal what he did on his vacation.”
Throughout the world there are myriad activities that are legal.
But immoral.
God gave us the animals to name, and to be husbanded by us responsibly. Yes, we can use them if we need them.
But there is no justification for sport hunting primates and most other sentient creatures. It’s simple blood lust and it’s wrong.
