Sotomayor is getting larger every day. She is freakin huge (much more than Hillary bloated) now like the diabetes people might come in and their sawbones MDs will cut a few legs, feet or toes away./ That Sotomayor volcano can blow at any time same as GinzXBorG. Sotomayor must be on a two porkchop a day diet

They will say: no way she can have enough time to be a good judge with that many children.
And/or: she’s obviously against abortion with that many children.

“They will say: no way she can have enough time to be a good judge with that many children.”

Let them——we can call them sexists unless they hurled the same thing to Scalia——who had 8 kids

.

ExGeeEye, I actually did get a good healthy laugh after reading your post. It took me reading the part about the Catholics and Confirmation twice to get that part!

Loved the humor!

MayflowerMadam, I agree with your observations about the lack of empathy many Catholics seem to share about the Abortion issue. I believe the term most likely used for those Catholics is ‘Cafeteria Catholics,’ and if it were not for a direct statement from the Pope/Vatican, many Catholics for a large part would not care at all about this issue. This, unfortunately, was observed from the large group of Catholics I knew as a child/teenager/adult.

As for the Jews... it was explained to me by one person who I trusted that their belief is the soul does not enter the body until the birth of the child takes place. While I’ve not been able to verify that with any writings, I’ve also not been able to get a firm answer about the ‘Soul Question,’ from any other Jews either. If they do have that belief it could explain the lack of empathy for the pre-born.

The Evangelicals are in a different group. I’ve seen it myself and it can be quite puzzling to the outsiders. Many are indeed Pro-life. Yet they shrink back from taking a stand on the morality issues because they often have a family member who is either a Homosexual, Lesbian, sleeping around out of marriage, shacking up, committing adultery while married, and/or so forth. Their idea of Pro-life often seems to end at the ‘don’t kill the baby,’ stage, and that’s it. I am truly thrilled for those in the group who walk a mother-to-be through it all and especially for those who open up their homes/lives for the children! They are providing future blessings! It’s hard to walk a firm walk. Having been guilty of so many, many acts, myself.

When it comes to the Leadership of this country, I’ve learned to accept that the Lord God uses who HE wishes to, in order to reach us all. Saved or Lost, I believe HE will use who HE wishes to teach us to follow HIM. Now, do we pay a price when we put those in office that shouldn’t be in office? Oh, yes. And it’s amazing, how many Evangelicals voted in the man who would be Pres Obama because they wanted ‘change,’ and then couldn’t bring themselves to go to the polls because they didn’t like the thought of the Faith of who could have been the next President based upon just the Faith Denomination. I heard it all... I marveled upon this thinking totally perplexed how they rationalized leaving this person in office! The blessing from those 8 years was that when a flawed man came and stood up for this country and it’s beliefs even the Evangelicals (who normally are single-issue voters) realized they needed to vote for this man for the sole chance of getting this country back on track!

This country was founded upon laws. I wish there were no such thing as Abortion. It’s such a condemnation for all involved. Yet it’s not the entire picture. The Founding Fathers themselves knew that some of what they instituted they knew to be flawed. In their God provided guidance they set in motion a system that could change our nation, for the better. Unfortunately, with the good comes the evil and we’ve been struggling with that down through our very short history. So perhaps we can in time turn the Abortionists out into the streets, unemployed and shamed as they once were because the courts recognize life pre-birth. That is my hope.

The Constitution is a marvelous system. And it’s important to have people in it’s Judicial/Legislative systems that would follow it. We threw out the understanding of responsibility of good Stewardship and instead brought into existence a Nation of Welfare. So now it’s a long tough slough back to where we need.

I am disappointed with the Evangelicals who cannot seem to follow God’s instructions. If we had more in leadership perhaps the struggle back to righteousness wouldn’t be so hard for this country. As it is, I will accept knowing the Constitution was a gift from God and will respect those who see it’s wisdom. If an Evangelical who supported the Constitution as written could be on the Supreme Court, great! If not, however, I would not fight a person of another Faith who does uphold the Constitution.

I will take a firm stand on those values. There is one belief system that is incompatible with the Constitution: ISLAM. When that rears its ugly head as it already has in several states, I immediately question those who would place them in power via voting or appointment. That is the one belief system that all other faiths should be against placing in any level of power.

I’m sure I muddled it. My brain’s not a good one.

Give me a good and honest Judge/Justice over one who only speaks of being good and honest, and the rest will sort itself out.

Sigh, I ramble on and on... It’s probably obvious I don’t get out much. LOL
