I think (a) is precluded by Trump controlling narrative here which leaves (b) - but, again, it’s indicative to me that the BOOMs have begun - if we knew all the details of The Plan we would know (but then so would DS lol). Some note that somebody like Richard Grenel (Bolton aide as I recall when he was temporarily acting UN Amb during Bush 43 era) having already been confirmed to ambassadorship could slip right into UN Ambassador position.
