Wind turbines are passive. Please explain how they change weather. What energy are they converting to affect the weather?

Don’t get me wrong. I think they are a huge waste of money and resources.

Wind turbines extract energy from the wind, altering the velocity, temperature, and humidity. They have been video captured acting to produce fog nucleation, resulting in ground level contrails. Turbines create effects at a distance from their immediate location.
