If you like taking selfies, you may want to be extra careful in future as they can be potentially dangerous and even deadly, especially when you are around water.
A study has revealed more than 250 people have died while snapping photos of themselves in recent years.
Researchers analysed news reports of 259 selfie-related deaths in 137 incidents from October 2011 to November 2017.
They said there were:
:: Three reported selfie-related deaths in 2011 :: Two in 2013 :: 13 in 2014 :: 50 in 2015 :: 98 in 2016 :: 93 in 2017
The number one cause of death was drowning, followed by incidents involving transport, such as taking a selfie in front of an oncoming train, and also falling from a height.

That is so stupid on his part its actually funny! Blooper material.
That I believe was for real.
Wonder how many have walked off piers, high places or into traffic while looking at their phone. That’s all you see these days.
Not at all funny to me, as stupid as the guy obviously is/was.
I never got the “selfie” thing, but it makes total sense for a narcissist like Obama.
The One never died he just smells like it.
Me either but I hate photos and video of myself.
Never make it as an actor. I have a voice for silent pictures.
It’s readily apparent that we need selfie regulation.
I knew an older man at church who was a retired train engineer. He started on the first generation of Diesel locomotives. I asked how he dealt with hitting cars and people on the track. He told me that he lost count of how many people were killed by his trains and that he had to train himself that it was 100% their fault, every single time. Here is proof.
A few years ago, a young man who went to the same church was killed by a train. He was at a Metro station and tried to cut across the tracks. Got hit with a mirror or some other protrusion.
The idea of being that over-the-top stupid is funny. But not in the case where someone actually died as a result.
250 over a 6 year period is statistically insignificant (to say the least) given the millions of selfies that were taken over that period. Not worth writing an article about it unless one had nothing else to write about.
Thinning the herd...think gazelles crossing a croc-infested stream. Crikey!
