I think the palo alto university and/or stanford university psychology departments teach courses in experimental psychology and specifically in how to monitor and control subjects, complete with assignments involving students choosing subjects from their real life social environments. course syllabi would reveal this. A guess as to why they would offer such training is for psy ops for intelligence and counter intelligence.
I think the reason behind fords out of place supercilious smile is because she may in fact teach some of these psy op courses, and she is getting a mental high off of imaining all her former students and colleagues watching her testimony and observing how she is using all of her psy op skills in deceiving and deflecting the senate committee questioning.
Ford appears to be listed as co author with palo alto university professor bruce arnow as “blasey, c” and “blasey, c m” in several publications between 2006 and 2016. One of her specialties appears to be research in depression.

THink you may be on to something Steve. Don’t know if you saw my post up thread but Stanford Psych have a long and sordid history in the annals of the ‘profession’ and the counterculture and the CIA. Seems a worthy bunny hole for any researcher interested.
