Imho the congressional committee rules need to be revised and strengthened with regard to due process, which needs to include a right to a speedy hearing by any nominee to any position being considered by any committee. Otherwise congress is open to alinsky style attacks (using the system against itself). Criminal allegations should be referred first to the respective jurisdictional authorities before any allegations are considered by congress.
I’d go further. I like the suggestion I’ve seen that they go back to an abbreviated procedure without any hearings whatsoever.
