This will be a weekly post.
Count remains at 68.
The Senate has been tied up trying to accomodate, not the Kavanaugh accuser, but the insufferable Lisa Murkowski and McCain minion Jeff Flake.
McConnell likes these types in the Senate so he can control legislation and nominations at will.
But McConnell is an Establishment creature and the Establishment wants Kavanaugh on the court (he would have been the pick of Mitt or Jeb as well).
So in the end Kavanaugh will be confirmed. The footsie will just play out a littke longer.
We’ll never have a simple confirmation, at least without the kabuki Uni Party theater, until the Deep State regains all of its lost power when Trump is gone. We lost.
If Kavanaugh is confirmed, these litttle machinations will be forgotten (except by people like us).
It will depend on the who the new senators are. Flake (the weakest link) will be gone from the committee. He was probably put on there at the behest of McCain, who wanted to get his Amnesty passed in 2013. You’ll note Rubio is now off the committee.
And if the republicans gain a number of seats, the committee will need to be re-comprised percentage-wise, which will push Harris and even Booker off, assuming Feinstein wins reelection against De Leon.
We’ll see.
If he isnt confirmed this week, its done.
Grossly has allowed Ford lawyer to control this by moving the goal posts and running the clock out.
Next week Kavanaugh is included on a list of a number of fed judges up for final vote on the same day. The vote has been scheduled for Thursday for some time.
I wonder if a letter from Kavanaugh’s accuser actually exists.
A.bump in the road,.albeit a big one. Still, when President Trump is out of office, after one or God willing two terms the Uni Party will make sure this never happens again.
