I was thinking the 'Rats were not acting properly according to the Constitution, so I just checked and read the relevant parts, and it appears everything they are doing is by the book, so Republicans on the committee have nothing to complain about:

Article II, section 2:

[POTUS] shall have Power [and] he shall nominate, and by and with the obstruction and via a Circus of the Senate, shall appoint Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law...
