Thanks for posting. That is one great animation in that article. For an “old” guy like me, it makes me remember fondly what inspired me to become an Engineer (Mercury, Gemini, Apollo).
And - I think if we did more stuff like that, and gave it enough coverage, instead of women accusing judges of stuff, we might climb back on top of the heap, so to speak.
Congratulations to JAXA and the Japanese engineering and astro physics team for their successful planning and execution of a difficult space mission.
Thanks for the posting the Japs (derogatory reference not intended) have been moving forward on these very seriouus type of space explorations which is being covered by John Batchelor.
It would be useful if there were postings on their developments of monitors (robots) they’ve developed for these space studies rather than off topic contributions of space movies robots which are a detraction.

The Japanese have achieved greatly in space. But you would never know it.
The landed a spacecraft on a asteroid, grabbed a sample, and landed that sample in the Australian desert. No small feat!
