This is a great video (long but great). Dr Paul Lim is a South Korean immigrant to the U.S. who began to get religion while he was a student at Yale of all places. He is now a professor of divinity at Vanderbilt.
His story is incredibly entertaining and interesting. And his wonderful sense of humor makes this long video pass too quickly.
Given that it is a long (48 minutes plus), you might want to watch a little bit here and there instead of plunging head long.
Dr. Lim's voyage to Faith is unusual and at the same time somewhat common considering that the questions he had re: the Christian faith are similar to those of most of us.
As a final note here, let me say that one of the most prominent features of Dr. Lim's story is his inquiry into the Christian faith. He was kind of dragged kicking and screaming into it by God. He wanted to go to law school but God had other ideas.
48 minutes isn’t long.
Wagner’s Ring Cycle (12 hours) is long. (LOL)
Anyway...I’ll give it a listen Thank you for posting! :-)
I watch a lot of sermons and apologetics on youtube and this video has been popping up in my “recommended videos”. Looks like I should check it out.
I love Wagner and have always wanted to attend the Bayreuth Festival.
Will check it out maybe tonite. Thanks, RR.
Thanks! I love that! LOL!
I am listening to Dr. Lim now. He is awesome...reminds me so much of my own struggles.
Meanwhile...a little story. PBS, many years ago, aired the Ring Cycle four nights in a row (one opera each night) and I put the time aside to watch it. I felt it was necessary, since I am a Dramatic Soprano.
Anyway, I watched all four nights, and then , on the last night there was a wonderful scene with smoke, lasers, and marvelous special effects along with Wagner’s most dramatic music. It really seemed like the ending. But it wasn’t. After this huge scene, the curtain parted and Brunhilde sang her last song. Then it was over.
And Brunhilde was a woman of “substantial” girth and substance.
Thus...the immortal saying:
“It ain’t over till the fat lady sings.”
Found the list of his publications quite interesting. I wonder with which local assembly he affiliates. Clearly his interests lie towards Calvinism and primitive church divisions.
I thought him say he was a Presbyterian so I guess he affiliates with a PCA church.
Yur welcome, Mrs D.
For later....
