They had KFC, McDonald’s, Burger King had just opened in Puxi.
I didn’t like those much.

Every time the the customer asks a question in English, the employee shows instant understanding, and responds appropriately to the question - in Spanish.
She obviously was just refusing to serve that customer, maybe because they were black.
