How about waiting in line at an airport and a smoker next to you drops flaming cigarette ashes on your suit lapel, burning holes in it? Happened to me, of course.

I hate pilots who say, “we’ll be on the ground shortly, either way.” I hate flight attendants who won’t get up to assist you because they are busy reading their book. And I hate passengers who try to get their extra large bag into the overhead knowing full well it won’t fit.

Aside from that, if you are going to sit next to me, you better keeping your shoes on.

I'm retired now. But flew nationally and internationally A LOT when I was working. Glad that's behind me.

#3 You gotta as you are inserted at an angle into your seat. No one can stand straight up.

Get the cute decorative nice ones like they have in asian countries. They seem more comfortable, although it’s probably psychological. It’s less uncomfortable if I am making a fashion statement, LOL.

My last flight, the people behind me brought a meal from PF Changs on board. The whole zone smelled of garlic, onions and feet. The return trip, the guy next to me was chomping on a bag of sour cream and chive chips.

The flight was 2.5 hours, neither of they could wait that long to jam food in their pieholes.

Methinks #7 is very common especially since seat sizing and spacing has been reduced. There is just no other way. I do say “sorry” or “excuse me” and hope they understand.

Regarding #7, I weigh about 175 and stand 5'10 - I'm not that big a dude. But there's still no way I can get up in coach when the person in front of me has his/her seatback fully reclined without grabbing on to the seatback - the way the seating is set up, there's simply not enough room. Don't want your seat tugged back? Don't recline it all the way in coach when you know perfectly well there's precious little room for the guy behind you already.

Regarding #2, when flying coach I always try to get an aisle seat, and it's always been my policy that the poor soul in the middle seat has the right to both of his/her available arm rests - they are being squeezed on both sides, they deserve the arm rests.

Air travel, especially in coach, is disgusting, stressful and most likely physically unhealthy. I do not travel for work unless I'm getting a business class seat. I may put up with coach on personal trips, but if at all possible I'm driving.
