Republicans' Senate majority in jeopardy? Tight races raise alarm
Fox News ^ | 9/10 | Mike Emanuel

This was expected to be an easier year for Senate Republicans.

Democrats were supposed to be playing defense as Senate candidates ran in conservative states that President Trump handily won two years ago.

But for Republican leaders seeking to maintain control of the Senate, some races are becoming a little too close for comfort.

A prime example is Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a former presidential candidate who is now fighting to hold on to his seat.

“We’ve got a fight on our hands,” Cruz said. “The extreme left, they’re angry, they’re energized and they are filled with hatred."

The thrust of this story is that Democrat Senate candidates are doing better than expected in places where Republicans normally win. My gut tells they are having a pipe dream. Thoughts?

Could have been an easier year for Senate Republicans, but the party decided to screw Roy Moore over. We lost a seat. Will it turn out crucial? Who really knows? I tend to doubt it, but if Republican leaders can find a way, they’ll screw it up.

I would like to say my usual “nonsense.” But your “but if Republican leaders can find a way, they’ll screw it up.” is unfortunately correct. I pray it is not so.

Last name of author is Emanuel, same last name as Rahm Emanuel which may tell us his bias and bend. So who knows?

We will get that seat back in the next election for it but I honestly think Roy Moore would have been a lightning rod for the MSM. They would have used him as a human piñata to point to how the Republicans were hypocrites to support a member who was accused of sexual assault but criticizing Dems like Franken. I am not saying he was guilty- that doesn’t matter to the MSM- I am just saying he would have been a gift to the MSM.

Even if we take this at face value, that Republicans may lose a few, there are still about 25 Democrat Senate seats up for election, and about 10 of those in states Trump won. There are a number of vulnerable Democrats, and those Democrats are still vulnerable, even if we see some Republicans not as solid as we had hoped.

In the end, Cruz likely wins...I see five additional seats going to the GOP.

All you have to do is go and review all the video material on Youtube for election 2016, and note the whacked-up behavior of predicting the outcome.

I would not use the Roy Moore-outcome to say much....even among Alabamian Republicans, he just wasn’t that attractive of a candidate.

This year, Democrats are motivated by this: Impeach Trump. Their fever dream is to regain the House and Senate so that they can oust Trump ASAP.

Best not to get cocky.

Every one of our votes is needed. Nobody should stay home.

It is time to even vote for RINOS if that is the only choice left in some States.

Maybe so. It just seems to me that if Republican candidates, especially in states won by Trump, adopted the Trump platform, it would be no contest. By the Trump platform I mean, the wall, repeal Obamacare, drain the swamp, reform NATO and the UN, lower taxes, better trade deals...we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Yep, much to the consternation
of conservative voters, hold your
nose and push the R button.
All those that believe in a god
fearing America must vote!

Either they are trying to help get the vote out or they’re trying to cover for some coming monkey biz that elects dems.

What exactly right now, would any Trump voter disapprove of? Trump has accomplished what everyone said was impossible... Just like he said he could.

Maybe, just maybe if they’d do as promised, fund the wall, repeal Obamacare, end DACA, national reciprocity, etc., maybe people would be more enthused to get them re-elected? Oh, they just want our money and vote, no action. /s
