Even MLK Jr. put his hand over his heart for the National Anthem before his 1963 speech in Washington. And Blacks were ACTUALLY oppressed in many places then, unlike today. So is Kapperdick saying he knows BETTER than MLK?
#18. While I respected Dr. King a lot, the real unsung hero of “brotherhood and understanding” was the man on the left, Whitney Young, of the National Urban League.
While others postured and pontificated, he worked with all different kinds of people to help Black Americans make real advances in jobs, education, and citizenship.
If he’s not on a stamp, he should be.
