A Wisconsin boy was rescued from a storm sewer Tuesday after an eagle-eyed firefighter saw the childs finger poking out of the manhole cover following severe weather in the area.
The 11-year-old boy was playing with his friends in a flooded drainage ditch in the Village of Harrison after heavy rain passed through the area around 6 p.m. The boy, who was not identified, got swept under the water and didnt resurface.
Rescuers arrived at the scene and found a bystander attempting to hold on to the boy but it was no match for the raging water. The boy was swept into a culvert that led to the storm sewer.

Amen to that!
You can count this one as a Miracle.
Boy has a great guardian angel for sure.
There had to be a moment in that firefighter’s mind when he said “What the h*ll is that”?
Glad the kid was saved.
Our storms have been horrific these past few weeks. I don’t think there’s a County in the entire STATE that doesn’t have some sort of major storm damage due to torrential rains and flooding. :(
Years back I was on a couple rescues similar to this in flood control channels, they’re not fun.

Thank you Jesus! And the fireman.
He better never be identifies. Poor kid will forever be known as Sewer Boy.
Thank you for helping!
We’ve currently got an art installation going that is raising money for cancer and a few other charities. There are Bucky Badger statues all over the state.
There is one near Monona or Mendota Lake (can’t remember which) and some jokers put sand bags all around his base, LOL! Very appropriate for what we’re going through these days with all of this flooding. :(
(We are high & dry in the hills of Iowa County, thank goodness!)
I did this 50 years ago as a kid, but was smart enough to stay out when it was raining.
Me too. Crawling through the storm sewers was a great way to win a game of capture the flag.
I was a free range kid. Mom kicked me out of the house during the summer. Only came back for lunch and dinner..
