I don’t even give to people missing a limb. My wife is considered 100% disabled by the government, she makes twice what I do in a year. Guy at the local truck stop hobbling around on one leg and crutches asked me for money and I told him no, related to him my wife’s story, and told him he could get a job shuffling paper if he wanted to. He never hit me up again. And he was a regular fixture at that gas station. Bum.

Hey, why not? They can live life as shiftless bums in their own Western countries by begging for handouts so why not try it in the Third World too. Those greedy rich Thai merchants need to spread the wealth around and pay their fair share to help those in need.

Oh believe me, now that I’ve read this, it don’t doubt it at all. I live near similar types of places as the ones you described, and yes, people are brazen: “Need money for pot”, “need money for beer” are not unusual. Perfectly healthy looking young people.
