Could be....or maybe Cohen had second thoughts about squealing. None of us give a crap about DjT's history unless it was traitorous , but Cohen is probably privy to some unsavory behavior. He's been pretty loyal to DjT and perhaps expected signals from DjT that he was safe.
The assignment to SDNY has removed the pardon option, so Cohen and family were probably scared to death. ...and that's the way it seems from 40,000 feet.
Not true at all. SDNY is a federal district, therefore the pardon option is absolutely not removed.
The assignment to SDNY changes nothing about a potential crime. The Southern District of New York is a FEDERAL court.

Or maybe Cohen doesn’t have anything terribly damaging to reveal at all and was pressured to make false statements as an alternative to spending the next 43,291 years in jail from political prosecution.
