I disagree, strongly. If you follow my post history, I have not been kind to Sessions this year. I've accused him of being asleep at the wheel. I genuinely feel that way, as do many of you. But, recently, as things unfold I see a different picture emerging.

First, remember the Jeff Sessions of old. He was a regular guest on Fox News and a bastion of conservatism. He was all about law and order. People on this forum have reminded me he was known as the "silent executioner" in Alabama for his methods of dealing with criminal activity. Those who followed Trump's campaign for the Whitehouse will recall Sessions was on board quickly and actively campaigned for Trump's benefit. Sessions was "our guy".

And now Trump has been berating him for a year, while Sessions says little and keeps his head down. He has allowed Trump to go through the wringer knowing that no prosecutable evidence of misconduct would emerge. And his response when pressed is "While I am Attorney General, the actions of the Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations." Which is exactly what both sides of the aisle want to hear and believe of him. It is the standard applied to Trump and his cabinet, now we want to see it applied to everyone including those on the other side of the aisle.

The Trump Administration is playing this like Wrestlemania. They put distance between Sessions and Trump. The media is throwing rose petals at Sessions. Sessions has become a heroic figure to the misguided (but salvageable) lefties. Neither Trump or Sessions will back down just like a WWE event.

Then an amazing thing happens. It is learned Trump has violated no law, but in the process of investigating him, it is discovered others have. And, in fact, those others have abused both Trump and Sessions (by falsely weaponizing Sessions to attack Trump). Now they are both cheesed off, unified, and willing to justly put everyone through the wringer Trump just endured. And the media/lefties can't disagree.

Sessions brings out his mighty war hammer ... Huber ... and Wrestlemania ends with two men left standing in the ring, Trump and Sessions, with the cabal broke, bleeding, and scattered among "the fans" who hate them.

Everything appears to be going as orchestrated. Don't fire Sessions now. Not right before Trump is cleared and they unite forces.

I wish this was true.

But Trump is Trump...you really think he could keep this under wraps this long without saying something about it. He wouldn’t be attacking sessions...he’s be saying “well we still haven’t heard from Jeff yet. He’s looking into things and we’ll see what he finds.”

Instead he attacks him...so if Jeff does indict the canal the left has their narrative. Trump made him do it. Trump has politicized the DOJ. IMPEACH him on this too.

Meanwhile Mueller gets to keep putting associates of Trump in jail.

If this is the plan it’s stupid.

I’d like a loud one at this stage of the game. Jeff shot his wad when he recused.
