“Nutter”

Over time, the original term, Pit Nutter, has been shortened to simply Nutter. Like the original term, Nutter embodies the same meaning: “The hallmark trait of the pit nutter is their unwillingness to accept the genetic heritage of the pit bulldog (It’s all how you raise ‘em!) or their inability to see the death and destruction their pit bulldogs create as anything other than collateral damage that the rest of society must absorb so that the pit nutter can enjoy the freedom of owning a killing machine.”

In 2013, however, the term “Nutter” sharpened to distinguish the purveyors of untruthful pit bull myths. In a June new release, “It’s Time for the Pit Bull ‘Recall’ Too,” attorney Kenneth Phillips states the distinction, “Unfortunately, pit bull lovers have neglected the problem for too long. Worse, they have alienated the general public by failing to denounce the “nutters” who spread misinformation about the members of this breed, which generally are not “nanny dogs,” service dogs, or rescue dogs.”

Some Nutters are intelligent, some are not, while others are mindless drones, circulating false myths about the pit bull breed because they have been directed to (See: Best Friends Animal Society). The primary demographic of Nutters are Caucasian women. Frequently young women of the child-bearing years (18 to 30-years old) with a natural draw to “mother” or “rescue” just about anything, in this case stockpiles of unwanted pit bulls that continuously flood U.S. open admission shelters.

Terms sharing the Nutter base include: Stockholm Nutter, Super Nutter, Nikko Nutter, pre-Nutter and post-Nutter.

Q: Why do people say, “Pit bulls are dog-aggressive not human-aggressive?”

Due to selective breeding for the purposes of dogfighting, pit bulls are highly dog-aggressive. This aggression is not limited to dogs; pit bulls frequently kill other companion pets and domesticated animals. Leading pit bull education websites warn pit bull owners to, “Never trust your pit bull not to fight.” These same websites also state that pit bulls should never be left alone with another dog or animal.20 The practical and moral question is: Why is “pit bull dog aggression” tolerated at all?

Pit bull dog aggression is unacceptable for two reasons. In many instances it leads to human aggression. A common scenario is the following: A loose pit bull attacks a leashed dog being walked by its owner. The owner gets seriously injured trying to stop the attack. Every year, one or more Americans suffers death due to pit bull dog aggression, including pit bull rescuers like Rita Woodard and Mary Jo Hunt who died while attempting to break up a fight between their pit bulls.

Secondly, far too many beloved companion pets and domesticated animals suffer a violent death by the powerful jaws of pit bull terriers each year. In some instances, these attacks involve pit bulls charging through screen doors of private homes — in a home invasion attack — to kill the pet living inside.21 Owners of the pet are then forced to watch as their dog or cat is disemboweled by the pit bull and pray that the animal does not turn its attention on an innocent family member next.
