Day of YHVH, ok, I'm writing about this now... So what are your favorite 'End of the World' songs, there's plenty of them out there so post them here.
I'll start out with...
Ginger Rogers & Fred Astaire
"Let's Face The Music And Dance"
May God bless us, each and every one...
We'll need it...
Wooden Ships...CSN and Jefferson Airplane.
The End - The Doors
“2525” - my first thought, too.
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
Eve of Destruction
End of the world sure takes a long time...
Silent Running - Mike and the Mechanics
Wooden Ships lyrics:
If you smile at me, I will understand
‘Cause that is something
Everybody everywhere does in the same language
I can see by your coat, my friend
You’re from the other side
There’s just one thing I got to know
Can you tell me please, who won?
Say, can I have some of your purple berries?
Yes, I’ve been eating them for six or seven weeks now
Haven’t got sick once
Probably keep us both alive
Wooden ships on the water, very free and easy
Easy, you know the way it’s supposed to be
Silver people on the shoreline, let us be
Talkin’ ‘bout very free and easy
Horror grips us as we watch you die
All we can do is echo your anguished cries
Stare as all human feelings die
We are leaving, you don’t need us
Go, take your sister then, by the hand
Lead her away from this foreign land
Far away, where we might laugh again
We are leaving, you don’t need us
And it’s a fair wind blowin’ warm
Out of the south over my shoulder
Guess I’ll set a course and go
In this category, “Eve of Destruction” should always be first.
It is quite eye opening to see how many times it’s been covered by different musicians.
Of special note is the acoustic version by its talented author PF Sloan:

It's the title of Steely Dan's last album (2003) and it's also a song on that album. It's a very haunting jazz number that is quite catchy, but the lyrics are somewhat dark and cynical (yes, I know, that's typical Steely Dan). I like the song, but I have to admit it almost makes me sad. Just very depressing.
Few seem to know of this song or this album.

“Next to Me” Emelia Sandi.
I really don’t give a rat’s a** about billions of years from now. Maybe I am insensitive and selfish .
