he NFLs ongoing national anthem controversy has made its way into a third season with the story taking center stage during this weeks preseason openers. While a handful of players conducted social justice protests during the anthem on Thursdays loaded slate of games, Marshawn Lynch, one of the NFLs most outspoken players, took a seat on the bench prior to the anthem ahead of Fridays game between the Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions.

It is crazy for these way, way overpaid athletes to gripe about this country. They are not heroes, they are men playing a game, entertainers who can be replaced, irrelevant to the welfare of this country.
And many of them are thugs, into drugs, beating up women, and now dissing this country. My family has switched to watching college football. No more NFL.
The owners are SJW wimps—grab the popcorn—it will be fun to watch the league crash and burn.
Boycott—year 2—in this household.
Geez. Free college w football scholarships, boosters snoozing w free gifts and cash, wild parties, tutors for remedial classes, multimillion dollar contracts along with endorsements, and this is the garbage we get. You just cant make this stuff up.
Snoozing = smoozing
Marsha Who ?
Better things to do with my time.
The collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and the players limits the owners in terms of how they can punish the players over this nonsense, but there is nothing that prevents a team from benching a protesting player and then cutting him at the end of the season. We have now had two seasons end since this "protest" first started, so any player who is still "protesting" is clearly doing this with the approval of his management.
THERE IS NO "FREE SPEECH" WHILE YOU ARE AT WORK!!!!!!
No, its the year-over-year of the price of all tickets sold -- not just season tickets.
I agree the owners are a big problem.
We really need to start ignoring these people. No airtime, no articles, no tweets. Just ignore them.
I believe Redskin tickets are available this year for the first time - used to only get them through will/trust. Also, there were prices way under a $100.
The players? 99.8% of them know only one thing:
They want to stay in the league as long as they can, so they can live the life (money, wimmen, choice seats at restaurants, etc.)
They think that by kneeling, they'll get on the good side of their bosses in the NFL front offices.
Their QB Derek Carr criticized the kneeling one week. The next game, his line (many of whom were kneelers) "let" the defense get to him and injure him.
Marshawn Lynch is one of the “most outspoken players in the NFL?” The who said “I’m jus here so I won’t get fined” 34 times at a press conference?
National Friggin Leftists
The guy is koo-koo. Koo-koo for Coco-Puffs.
This is why baseball is seeing better numbers.
