The future of many collector parts is 3d printing. Download the plans, take them to Kinkos, or order from a company that has the plans and the printer, and you are done. Foreign entities unneeded.

I have 2 Mercedes Benz Unimogs, a Land Rover Lightweight, and 2 series 2A Land Rovers.

Now my parts from England and Germany are going to cost more.

But that's ok. If it helps drag the Europeans to trading fairly with us, it's worth it.

Trump is doing the right thing.

Classic example of CBS thinking, Trump supporters like old cars, scream that part will get expensive and that will cause us to vote for the opposition.

Chinese reproduction auto parts for classic automobiles is a very tiny market.

The larger market that they are attempting to protect is Chinese reproduction auto parts for current vehicles that body shops purchase for car repairs. Those fake non-OEM parts generate a lot of revenue for body shops who charge customers and insurance companies full OEM price for them.

Collectible cars have been looking like a bubble to me for several years and are overdue for a crash anyway. Sounds like somebody’s searching for something even remotely plausible to blame Trump for ahead of the curve, to me.

I just got rid of a 2006 Jaguar S Type. It was always losing wheel badges. They just kind of popped on and would pop off while drivng on a highway somewhere. Hubby started Shoe Gooing them on. Still would lose one occasionally. I could go to the Ford dealer in town and pay $125 per badge or order one that looked just like it off Ebay for $5. Which route do you think I took?
But you’re right. When I had it worked on it was always at the dealer where they used real parts.

Pricey vehicles partner.

I have owned nearly a dozen rover products from a Series II and III to Discos and Classics and Countys

I can’t fathom the prices some of those models fetch

And the upkeep on rovers once they went yuppie slash hipster

My experience with the utility Rovers was in third world

I got them before the yuppie craze, for reasonable prices.

Yes, they do break a lot, that's why I drive the Unimogs much more. They seldom break.

And I really pound the Unimogs.

A few good drill bits don’t hurt either.

Yup. A driver. I like to drive that car. Of course it will get dents and scratches and wear and tear.

For the old Land Rovers the “O” in OEM is a bit nebulous. ^)

Rover (BL) > BMW > Ford > Tata

All since 1975 or so.

My uncle had an old land rover. Darn good 4wd. He even had a post hole auger that attached to the back end of the car and drive shaft. Top speed was 55mph.
