Interesting topic. Dr. Ligaya Acosta from Human Life International wrote about going to Poland to teach the Filipino community there about chastity, natural family planning, and pro-life virtue. I remember being surprised that there was a large community of Filipino women in Poland.

“I remember being surprised that there was a large community of Filipino women in Poland.”

The largest export from the Philippines is woman working as domestic helpers (Maids). There are are for example over 250,000 Filipino women in Hong Kong employed in this capacity. Filipino women go all around the world to work as maids, nannies and au pairs.

Many of them are married with a lay-about chronically non-employed husband back on Luzon or Manila who sits around drinking beer and gambling off the wife’s earnings.

It said a lot about the Philippines that this is the case and what it says isn’t good.
