Since you’re already a Life member, what is your motivation for upgrading? Are you active in your state Friends of the NRA dinners? Do you attend the annual meetings?

I know a lot of people like to bash the NRA, and my own views of Wayne LaPierre aren’t exactly all positive, but on the whole I support the NRA with my dollars.

Have you considered donating to the NRA-ILA instead of upgrading your membership?

I did. Not that it gave me any significant benefits, which it did not, but because it was the RIGHT thing to do.

Ditto on post number 2. I’m content w/life member. When I was more flush w/cash, I was actually sending $100 a month to ILA for several years.

I figured they were the only organization that were actually fighting for my rights, as opposed to some politician that would “commingle” my interests with others.

Spread your membership and funding among the Second Amendment Foundation, Gun Owners of America, Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, and your state’s firearms sportsman’s advocacy groups.

I generally drop a lot of money (for me) at the annual NRA Banquet rather than upgrade from Life.
Got some “free” guns this year.

It’s good to be a life member but I would stop there.

The NRA is a remarkably ineffective gun rights group for it’s size.

LaPierre is taking home 600K a year if I recall correctly.

That's the perfect choice with the perfect timing. The NRA needs all of the support that we can give now. It appears that many influential bureaucrats are much supported by billionaires and others in their efforts to impose gun control on the people of the United States.

In this video, former FBI and CIA agent Philip Mudd pretended to cry and sob while stating his position against our Second Amendment. ...very dramatic.

And the midterm elections are approaching. Watch out.

Also, while providing information on some of the choices for the recent Supreme Court nomination, we saw in arguments and conspiracy theories posted in comments, that quite a few FReepers are probably in favor of gun control.

It shouldn't be a surprise, really, because a sizable portion of Republicans--especially in some blue states--are in favor of gun control and other efforts of the left while wanting abortion to be made illegal. Curious, that. And of course, as with other conservative discussion boards, there are Democrats in our midst.
