You’re probably right. Times change. Peak Male Crooner time started with men like Arthur Godfrey, Big Crosby and Pat Boone. It was finished it off in the late 50’s by Nat King Cole and Johnny Mathis among others. Even real talents like Dean Martin branched out into comedy roles, although he was very good.

Exactly right. The crooner style was already in its sunset years when Frank Sinatra Jr was trying to build his career.

He was pitching to a demographic that was already well into their 30s and 40s, and who were more involved with raising families and chasing the American Dream, than sitting by the victrola, spinning 78 rpm records.

Ah Dino, one of my all time favorites. Reminds me of when America was still America. I love “Volare” especially when he switches into Italian. Great memories.
