I have some training in recue/recovery/cave diving. I have also taken a “Slam” course in rescuing panicked swimmers. This seemed logical from the start. Prior to scuba training and quite a bit of experience I would have welcomed being sedated for this rescue.

Yeah. Who wants to be awake for major surgery? lol. Just put me under and may I please wake up when it’s all over. lol. The fact that they were able to sedate them was a benefit to these children and the team that rescued them. It could have put everyone at risk otherwise.
