That will never stop another from killing. The police will never initially stop a massacre (their response was within minutes in this case). A bullet to this monster's head speaks louder and is the equalizer.

And yes, it’d be nice to have a gun, but as all massacres are, this is an ambush, and it will ALWAYS be too late to stop a few murders once the scum starts unless he’s really feckless. So maybe she did buy some time, as surely as EVENTUALLY someone whipping out a gun and getting a good shot would.
