Actually, one of my favorites - both the veggie AND the painting. I didn’t even collect the dead bunny still life or the dead bull.
Thank you. Many hours were spent at the Detroit Institute of Arts, which is basically right on the campus of Wayne State University (1969-1973) north of downtown Detroit.
I’m so glad you liked it, Aqua. Some of his portraits are breathtaking for me, like the follies bar or the early nude, who he married, but some....
I’ve never been there. Sounds wonderful. Good art just takes your breath away.
Remarkable. When I was in college, my bride-to-be and I loved going to the Art Institute to admire the stunning Impressionist collections there.
I had never seen the portrait of that pensive woman shown at 7:02 on the video. What is it called? I could study that piece for hours.
Loved the oboe sonata, too.
Help me out with the 7:02. It comes up for me as the blond lady who was the study for the bartender in the next Follies scene. The lady in black looking left, just before the blonde and at 7:00, was ALSO a study for the Follies scene. The Follies scene was 1881-A Bar at the Folies-Bergere.

Thanks for another winner, mairdie!
Loved the art - and so enjoyed the oboe!
I am smitten with the lady, looking to our left, black outfit, rakish black hat. I really like it.
Always pleased when you like one of these. So very glad. Hugs.
I’m more intrigued by the paintings of Manet at the end, especially the one by Carolus-Duran, the subject of one of my other videos. Manet has his hand on his cheek. I love the little smile.
Bravo, I like both! Tons of images I had never seen, thank you!
The dog paintings were especially fun to look at.
Hugs, Gnu. Did worry about Saint-Saens for Manet, but nothing else worked for me. I should do a video of all the animal paintings that show up unexpectedly in the body of work of these people. Though I have to tell you that the first one reminds of my paint by numbers of my youth.
Haha, I remember those!
Loved them. Mother wanted me to be an artist, like her, but it was a failing hope. But I did do a paint by numbers for her of a horse. So loved that woman. She gave me an oil painting set right after I married. I woke up the next morning to the living room filled with painted canvases. My first husband, a high energy physcist, was the artist in the family. He now lives near where Georgia O’Keeffe lived, and paints. Well, some of mother’s dreams were answered.
That’s neat. I read Country Living magazine, which is not what most people would assume it is, it has a lot of nice décor, but anyway, at the back page, they always offer a beautiful photo available for paint-by-number.
Easy123art.com it’s called.
