My working theory is that each person is chemically unique, that each body is hard-wired to heal.

The problem is that 9 out of 10 people are slow-poisoning themselves, ignorant of the effects until expression of a more serious condition, usually in the form of a physician’s ignorant “diagnosis” and assigning a label to the condition with a corresponding chemical treatment (pharmacological).

Modern medicine - absent surgical procedures and genetics, with few other exceptions - is a joke, literally almost stuck in the dark ages. I’d go see a Chinese herbalist before an MD...

Here is an abstract feom an old Mycology Journal

Cytochromes of fungi are essentially similar to those of animals. Cytochromes of fungi constitute two electron transport systems occurring in mitochondria and the endoplasmic reticulum. The former system, called the respiratory chain, contributes to cellular respiration and ATP generation, whereas the later system, named the microsomal electron transport system, is responsible for biosynthesis of several cellular components.

The oxidative metabolism of lanosterol, that is included in the biosynthetic pathway of ergosterol, is one of the important functions of the microsomal electron transport system, which is catalyzed by P450(14DM). Many azole antifungal agents avidly combine with P450(14DM) and inhibit the oxidative removal of C-32 (the 14 alpha-demethylation) of lanosterol. This inhibition causes depletion of ergosterol and accumulation of 14-methylsterols in the membrane of fungal cells. Such change in sterol composition disturbs membrane function and results in growth inhibition and death of the fungal cells. Accordingly, P450(14DM) is considered as the primary target for azole antifungal agents.

If azole antifungal agents inhibit mammalian cytochrome P450 too, their systemic use may result in potentially significant adverse reactions. The high selectivity of azole antifungal agents for fungal P450(14DM) will be necessary for their systemic application. Binding ability of an azole antifungal agent to P450(14DM) is predominantly determined by the substituent at N-1 of the azole group, and the substituent must interact with the substrate site of the cytochrome.

Extensive modification of the N-1 substituents and the screening of newly developed compounds with respect to the selectivity to fungal P450(14DM) with some conventional methods will be necessary. For this project, a biochemical understanding of cytochrome P450 and other cytochromes is important.

Another theory of cancer that I found interesting, was the mitochondrial theory of cancer.

It proposes that cancer is essentially a mitochondrial disorder, rather than the result of genetic defects in the nucleus of the cell. Experiments have shown, that if you put the nucleus of a cancerous cell into a non-cancerous cell, it remains non-cancerous; but even if you replace the nucleus of a cancerous cell with one from a non-cancerous cell, it remains cancerous.

The application of that theory in practice, is to stave cancer of sugar/glycogen with an extremely low carb ketogenic diet. I read the book Keto for Cancer (https://www.amazon.com/Keto-Cancer-Ketogenic-Metabolic-Nutritional/dp/1603587012/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1529817888&sr=1-3&keywords=keto+and+cancer) and thought that it made a good case.

Mitochondria are the power houses of the cell producing the energy for the body in the form of ATP. This is the process where your body turns nutrients, oxygen and glucose into carbon dioxide and ATP. This process is called the Citris Acid or Kreb’s cycle and is how ATP is produced Aerobically.

This process is seven times more efficient that the anarobic process done in the cytoplasm. There are many elements to this complex process.

I have recently been studying the effect of fasting and ketones on this system as they have shown that O2 consumption and CO2 release has been substantially decreased in the body, thus resulting in much less hypoxia. It is proven by monitoring a diver’s ability to hold their breath under water while in ketosis.

My mind goes all over the place in reasearch based upon my guidance in meditation. Recently it has been guiding me to learn and compare and contrast the Krebs Cycle to the Calvin Cycle that plants use to produce energy. Not there yet.

I used baking soda on two basal cell areas, and both disappeared.

Baking soda is not a PPI.. I agree.

I do not agree with the remainder of your statements as there are differeing responses depending upon the acid level in the stomach when the alkaline solution is consumed.

If consuming an alkaline solution takes the stamach below a ph of 3.8, the stomach will determine it is too alkaline and begin producing more acid, thus defeating the purpose of taking the alkaline solution. (The 3.8 ph is from memory so it might be off)

“PPIs have the effect of increasing gastric pH.

Sodium bicarbonate has the effect of increasing gastric ph.”

Correlation does not prove causation. Clearly, different things can produce similar effects, through different mechanisms. You seem to confuse that.

Exercise has the effect of weight loss, and cancer has the effect of weight loss weight loss, therefore exercise is the same as cancer. That is the type of logic you propose.

PPIs do not cause their side effects from the level of pH in the stomach, the side effects are from the chronic disruptions in the processes the produce and regulate gastric acid, and other processes in the body.

Different foods have different pH. That is normal, and the body is designed to sense and react to produce the required pH for digestion (low), and later in the digestive tract, a higher pH for absorption into the blood. Baking soda’s effect is simply as a food with a high pH entering the stomach. If the body senses food that needs to digest, it will produce acid until it senses the right pH.

PPIs are drugs designed to interfere with the production of gastric acid itself - inhibitors.

Cancer loves sugar and hates oxygen.

I guess the gist of the article is that baking soda (in this experiment) seems to get through a protection that cancer has from oxygen, making otherwise resistant cells more vulnerable to treatment.

You are some guy on the Internet without a clue.

Not an argument.

What you are quoting is the same failure of understanding reflected in many "scholarly journal" articles.

The "acidic" evidence is based on a failure to understand the Warburg Effect. People have mistakingly run with the discovery of the anaerobic respiration of all cancers. That was the effect of cancer according to Warburg and not the cause.

Warburg's most important discovery was the energy substrate of cancer. All cancer utilizes glucose as an energy source. The utilization of glucose results in anaerobic respiration and not normal aerobic. This is the "acidification" result and not the cause.

Please check out a couple of articles:

Metastatic cancer gorges on fructose in the liver

A sucrose-enriched diet promotes tumorigenesis in mammary gland in part through the 12-lipoxygenase pathway

There are other issues with sucrose and fructose in particular. Fructose has been found to turn off mRNA expression of key proteins, particularly cysteamine deoxygenase. This is a serious disruption of a key metabolic pathway. What do you think that does long term? Why do we differentiate cancers when the same weak energy substrate is the same for all of them? Shouldn't we be looking at the cells surrounding the cancer and the changes that occurred to feed the cancer?

Cancer is a metabolic disorder. Period. You feed the cancer and ultimately you will get cancer. There is no argument there unless you are a grant chaser.

P.S. For the idiot Freeper who may respond empowered by Dr. Google, learn the difference between endogenous and exogenous.

Finally, there are essential proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. There is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate! ESPECIALLY SUCROSE!

What would you have a seemingly healthy person do to prevent these cancers, RE bicarbonate? I do brush my teeth with it twice a day and let some stay in my mouth but I don’t drink it. I don’t eat enough vegetables probably either, though I eat them daily.

Correlation is not causation, but understanding biochemistry sure does help.

Proton pump inhibitors act by blocking the hydrogen/potassium adenosine triphosphatase enzyme system of the gastric parietal cells. The proton pump is the terminal stage in gastric acid secretion, being directly responsible for secreting H+ ions into the gastric lumen, making it an ideal target for inhibiting acid secretion, thus decreasing the acidity of the stomach. Inhibiting acid secretion inhibits lowering of ph.

Sodium bicarbonate is an alkaline molecule that directly raises the stomach ph. Introducing an alkaline increases ph.

Excellent comments and articles. Thank you for sharing.

Only one point I differ. “You feed the cancer and ultimately you will get cancer.”

While this is very true, suppressing the immune system is the flip side of the same coin.

We have cancer cells in our bodies that our immune system keeps in check. It’s a balance bewteen many factors some inhibiting cancer through various means and some facilitating it.

Agreed with the caveat that disruption of essential biochemical pathways with sucrose leads ultimately to loss of normal autophagy and apopotosis.

Yes, thus the increase in obesity, cancer, and high fructose sugar consumption.

My research is more focused upon the epigenetic influence of consciousness upon the biochemical reactions. It is not a simple black and white solution as there are many influencing factors in a very complex system.

You might find interesting reading in articles relating to the replacement of glucose by ketones in the aerobic ATP production process.

I'm actually studying it intensively for a rare childhood genetic disorder. Of course I began practicing what I was preaching a couple of years ago. The benefits were eye opening.

Made a career change four years ago to assist my Wife (neurologist) in studying this disease. As an engineer I brought a different perspective to the disorder. When we switched to a "system" from "symptoms", we were able to address the disease and create a metabolic model.

I'll also private reply with a 5 minute video of what we are doing. It won first place at the LA Neuroscience and Neurology conference this year. The disorder appears to be the rosette stone of metabolic disorders.
