Yeah I sort tilted my head thinking that juvenile records are supposed to be sealed and/or destroyed if there’s nothing else. Sure a disgusting act, but at 15 I dunno whether you shouldn’t be able to move past it if you never do anything else.

Lots of people take a lea deal even if they are innocent.
Take a plea deal that avoids any jail time vs. a trial that would likely mean many years in prison even though you are innocent? That’s an easy decision.
Prosecutors get people to accept such pleas even when the prosecutor knows the person is innocent. Happens all the time.
