A non-chronological video, for a change, of the art of Norman Rockwell to Les Paul's "Sentimental Journey."
PING
that was just what I needed.
I’m really glad. Comforting as chicken soup.
My current calendar, courtesy of my drug store has one of his painting every month.
They are typically amusing as well as beautifully done.
He seems to have a good grasp of human nature without any unkindness.
Another excellent video. Sentimental Journey is perfect and is among my top 3 for songs of the big band era. Doris Day was my first ever childhood crush. One note. Doris sang this song with Les Brown and His Band of Renown. Not Les Paul.
That’s very nice.
I especially like the style, color and composition of the roadster, number 9 at about .23
(But I am also sort of partial to the ‘Redneck Thanksgiving’ parody that we often see ;-)
Many thanks, for your support AND for your correction. Fixed. I went back to the CD listing and, apparently, after I copied, I typed instead of pasted. Sigh. Apologies.
Until I collected the images, I never knew he did ads for tires. He was showing off the tires rather than the sporty roadster which, I agree, I love.
like!
If you ever get a chance his museum in Stockbridge MA is worth the trip.
thanks I really enjoyed that
But there is a Norman Rockwell museum in Vermont, not Mass?
You’re most welcome, John. Thanks for your kindness in commenting. Appreciated.
Les Brown, not Les Paul. Both are awesome. Nice video. But it’s Les Brown.
In the late 50 & 60ss, we used to love to drive home from the camp in southern VT, Route 7; every Sunday afternoon Molly and Norman would be at a place in Arlington, VT that exhibited his work. They were very sweet, down-to earth folks.
Early on, it was obvious that Molly took care of the *business* side of Rockwell's art, and she let Norman be Norman.
Good times.
Stockbridge, MA. Go up route 7, bang a quick left in the center of or town, go past the big houses, bang a quick right, go up a couple miles and it should be your first left, and down the road a half mile. If you go right, it takes you to Tanglewood. There's a big fancy flower garden/botanical display on the corner. So you can't miss it.
Chesterwood's studio is nearby, too, if you fancy the Lincoln Memorial, the Minuteman and what not.
I was corrected already and have changed it. I actually copied Les Brown, then typed Les Paul. Idiot me. Glad you enjoyed the video.
