Does anyone know what happened to The Midwest Conservative Journal?

It used to be one of my favorite blogs. The author, Christopher Johnson had a gift for writing being both sharp and witty. I know that he had suffered some setbacks in his personal life and was living in somewhat reduced circumstances but the blog remained until late 2016 when it suddenly vanished.

Does anyone have some background/info on this?

It’s been gone a long time. Most of the other conservative Episcopal/Amnerican Anglican blogs have also died as far as I can tell. The only one still operating I know of is Kendall Harmon’s blog, http://kendallharmon.net/. But his diocese is about to be killed off by the national denomination.

Same thing in the Presbyterian area, almost all the conservative bloggers just folded shop. I think a lot left the PCUSA denomination.

At this point, bemoaning the American mainline denominations and thinking you can do something about it is just beating a dead horse.

People just need to come out of these spiritually corrupt denominations and attend a non-denominational, local Biblical church, or start your own house church.

That’s funny.

Non-denominational churches are just another denomination.

I’m sticking with Southern Baptist. We are nowhere near losing the war.

This might help:

Also have you attempted to try the wayback machine to reference the reason?

Right now I worry the Southern Baptists are falling all over themselves apologizing for the “MeToo” situation, even in situations where they don’t have anything to apologize about. (E.g., the seminary president who was fired who to me didn’t seem to have done anything wrong.)

Once political correctness seeps into your denomination, it will kill it.

Scripture is very clear that divorce is abhorrent to God, and churches should do everything they can to keep a marriage together. But now, if it’s the wife that wants out, it seems like they are falling all over the place to say that is ok.

As for woman leadership in the church? Well, the Bible speaks to that too.

This is just from personal experience, but of out of ALL the mainline denomination women pastors/priestesses I have met over the years, there is only ONE that I thought was a Christian. The rest of them were all in it for feminism and women’s equality. Without fail, they have pretty much destroyed all the churches they have been put in charge of, usually by first demeaning and chasing out all the men, who get replaced by homosexuals.

I think there were multiple reasons. First, I think the blogger, Chris Johnson (?), got laid off from his long time librarian job and couldn’t find another. Then he either moved or lost his home and was having a hard time transitioning to a new place to stay. Third is, and I think he said this, with the Anglican wars lost there is only so much you can write about any longer. Fourth, I think all these Anglican blogs were being attacked by malware by the pro-homosexual side. There’s another Anglican website, I can’t remember the name now, where if you try to open it now you will get a warning that it is unsafe and your browser will block you. My church had the same thing happen to our church website (because we opposed same-sex marriage), somehow they route the attacks through Russia to either infect you with malware or are able to trick the various malware protection sites into listing you as “unsafe,” which then blocks access. Not sure how the church got it fixed.
