Jesus sometimes taught in parables, and usually when he did, this is explicitly indicated in the text; the particular passage I quoted was not a parable, though, nor or numerous others that discuss the topic. I am disagreeing, not intending to be disrespectful.

If you understand the bible, you understand there is no redemption for any soul banished to hell. Otherwise there is no point in having hell.

If you understand the bible, you understand there is no redemption for any soul banished to hell. Otherwise there is no point in having hell. There are various Christian religions that interpret scriptures differently. Some as rote
word for word, others as different forms of symbolism, analogy. When you say understand the Bible you have to know that there are many interpretations.

Jefferson had a KJV, which he excerpted to create his own pair of summaries of select teachings that fit with his personal Deist presuppositions and disbelief in the supernatural. This pair of compilations has come to be known as the Jefferson Bible, though Jefferson himself did not actually refer to it as a "Bible"--the actual titles of the two works were The Philosophy of Jesus of Nazareth and The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth. Jefferson's two books reflected his own philosophy rather than historic Christian teaching--as he put it himself, "I am of a sect by myself, as far as I know."

I didn’t know this was Gaiman. He is prolific.
Gaiman grew up in a Scientology family.

The bible is written, rewritten by man over the millennia to suit the political needs of kings and the various denominations. King James and his advisors were no more inspired by God than were the various leaders of the Reformation.
The bible should be read and understood for the basic messages of good and how you live your life in faith. Literal interpretations, however founded in historic facts, have been interpreted in the context of the times and the men in power in both the temporal and spiritual worlds.
Telling someone they are going to hell if they don’t believe the doctrine you adhere to is no better than a Muslim telling you must convert or die.
Believe in and have faith in the doctrines you want to but don’t tie your beliefs to every thing and everybody in the world around you.

I'd be surprised if NetFlix doesn't revive or reboot other defunct shows. Thanks AdmSmith.

Nope, haven’t watched it. I don’t care for comedies, and I don’t like Ted Danson.

Just binge watched the entire fourth season on Netflix. Definitely worth the wait. One hell of a surprise ending for the series.
