I believe that there is real evil in the world as well. You cant dispute the notion that sometimes people just want to see the world burn.
However Lucifer in the DC/TV world is a punisher of evil, not a source of evil.
Its as much a tale about good and evil as the Justice League and Avengers are about evolution.

In the show, Lucifer is saved in a manner of speaking. The message of redemption is spread throughout the series.

Jesus did not need to rely on anyone's opinion on this: He said, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven." (Luke 10:18). Christianity, following the Jewish Scriptures and the teaching of Jesus and the experience of the Apostles, has always taught the existence of the Devil--you will not find any major theologian teaching differently before about the 1940s under the influence of radicals like Rudolf Bultmann. There is real evil, and it has a name, or more properly names, since it wears many faces, as historian Christopher Nugent observed in his study, Masks of Satan: The Demonic in History. There he considers case studies such as Gilles de Rais, who is estimated to have raped and murdered somewhere between 80 and 600 children after invoking a demon. Karl Marx wrote poems about Satan early in his career, and there was a significant strain of Satanism among the early Socialists, Marxists, and Bolsheviks. Adolf Hitler's early career was promoted by an Ariosophical cult called the Thule Society that was networked with the German branch of one of Aleister Crowley's Satanic organizations, the OTO. Lucifer co-creator Neil Gaiman has frequently made references to Crowley ever since his early work on The Sandman, of which Lucifer is a spin-off. His Watchmen collaborator Alan Moore is a self-proclaimed admirer of Crowley. Evil has a name, and a marketing machine.

Good news for Devil Worshipers. I thoroughly enjoy The Lord of the Rings, but that doesn't mean I worship Gandalf.
It's fantasy.

I'm hardly a theologian, but as I view the show, it is an interesting concept about the devil. The devil isn't evil, the devil punishes evil.
So in that sense, the devil isn't portrayed negatively in this show. But evil/sinful acts by humans are treated negatively.
I can certainly think of worse shows from a morality standpoint.
And if I can go off on a tangent here, The Simpsons were often bashed. But it is hard to find a show where a family goes to church each Sunday, and is shown going to church. Some people get in a twist about shows like Lucifer or The Simpsons, but they are the rare show that has religious themes or storylines.

Only in Hollywood, there is no chance for the real Lucifer to find redemption.
To: Midwesterner53
It’s a story, not different from “The Devil and Daniel Webster”.
There is a positive message throughout the series that applies to humankind. If the devil can find redemption and come to understand love then why can’t we.
Did God tell you that his fallen angels have no chance at redemption? Do you have a direct line to the mind of God?
It’s a Hollywood story on TV, not a newly discovered piece of scripture. Get over it.
