I never meant to cause you any sorrow
I never meant to cause you any pain
I only wanted to one time to see you laughing
I only wanted to see you laughing in the yellow rain

I'm imagining a remake of the move Twister where storm chasers tear around the Midwest trying to place Porta Potties loaded up with scientific instruments in the paths of tornados.

Why’s this corn laying all around. I thought Colorado was the beer and Rocky Mountain state? Then crap everywhere I thought that was San Francisco. Mabel give that map.

Front range of the Colorado Rockies from Colo. Springs north to Fort Collins get hit hard with wind storms. Near Boulder where the railroad was having box cars blown off the tracks they installed a wind barrier. On a parallel set of tracks, for some distance, they parked coal cars filled with gravel, welding the wheels of the cars to the tracks. This wind break has been in place so long that trees and shrubs are growing from the dirt in the former coal cars.

That wasn’t a “gust”: That was a clear air vortex (tornado) that dropped right on top of them.

Never seen that caught on video in such proximity. They were all lucky it petered out.

If that was in the morning, and the job site was crawling with south of the border types, it’d be spraying some serious “taco twisters”.
