A mother in Stockton, California, says her 8-month-old pit bull is a "hero pup" for saving her and her baby's lives last week when a fire broke out in another unit of her fourplex.
So it's no wonder that Sasha went straight for Masailah as soon as she felt heat coming through their door just before midnight on Sunday.
The pit bull alerted her owner that something was wrong first by barking and yelping, before any of Nana's human senses detected that anything was wrong.
"I open it and she runs in and starts barking at me like crazy, and I was like, 'OK, this is weird. This is not like her,'" Nana told the station.
As she got closer to the door, she saw a glow coming from next door, her cousin's unit in the fourplex. Sasha was already on her way to get her best friend.
Nana, 30, rushed to her Masailah's room, but Sasha had beaten her there. The dog was trying to carry her out of bed and to safety by Masailah's diaper.
"She has my baby by the diaper just dragging her off the bed trying to get her to safety."

I think the dog started the fire as a distraction so it could eat the baby. It got caught.
Usually with pits, there is no pre-meditation.
But in this case, looks lik there is.
I did not know that pit bulls meditated.
I said usually they don’t.
See #2.
The dog is still a puppy. Pits are pretty normal until about two years old, then they end up at the animal shelter.
A great story about a great dog. Obviously had good breeding and was owned byva responsible owner instead of a sadistic subhuman monster who likes watching fighting dogs rip each other apart.
It was convenient that the 7-month old was so easily accessible, and not in a crib, like 99% of 7-month olds.
It wouldn’t surprise me to hear that almost any dog would if it could.

Looks like the title is very misleading according to what’s in the article.
LOL!
Either that, or going for the 'long sting'.
Kidding aside - job well done by the pup - and even though this is a sin cursed world, it is always good to see God's creatures acting like they were originally made (to be good pets and companions to man).
Maybe the dog started the fire because it likes it’s meat done.
The female pit bull that I had in TN a couple of years ago was one of the best dogs I’ve lived with. Gentle and loving with children, but quite vigilant and protective of the house.
You are a very bad person. SNORT!
Occasionally the odd Muslim accidentally does something decent too, but that’s no reason to stop keeping the lot of them at arm’s length.
I should frog gig you, but that was just plain funny.
I have owned several dogs of different breeds including a half wolf. My experience is if treated like a member of the family they will care for the family. If you isolate them they become violent.
Bingo! +1
LMAO!
Huh? The pit bull didn’t eat the baby?
Gotta be fake news.
